The meeting discussed the principles of the YuPG (York University All Union Pension Group), which guarantees the financial accessibility of the pension plan and offers demographic equity, spousal benefits and old age pension. Under the Pay Equity Act, employers such as York have an obligation to assess jobs on the basis of skills, effort, responsibilities and working conditions and to ensure that female jobs (mostly held by women) are properly paid relative to male occupations. In Block 1 in York, this process was implemented many years ago and is maintained as part of our collective agreement and our joint employment assessment commissions. Employer data on pay rates and job evaluations are readily available, organized and tracked. YUSAPUY has two negotiating committees for group 1 and group 2 members. Bargaining committees are elected by members and are responsible for preparing and opening negotiations with the employer to negotiate the working conditions of the membership, as described in the YUSAPUY collective agreements.

. The Constitutional and Political Commission is composed of three elected members (3) of the YUSAPUY. The C-P committee maintains the YUSAPUY Constitution and Policy Manual, writes a language and proposes changes to YUSAPUY`s board of directors. The C-P committee also advises the office on the interpretation of these important documents. The Health and Safety Committee is made up of members of YUSAPUY Divisions 1 and 2, appointed to the committee by the YUSAPUY Executive Board.
